Holy Orders
In the Sacrament of Holy Orders, also known as Ordination, the priest being ordained vows to lead other Catholics by bringing them the sacraments (especially the Eucharist), by proclaiming the Gospel, and by providing other means to holiness. Holy Orders also includes ordinations to the diaconate, and ordinations to the episcopacy (bishops).
Vocational guidance and information is available for men who are discerning a call to the Diaconate or Priesthood. Please speak to a priest about this. The Diocese of Brooklyn also has a Director of Vocations and an Office to assist in this, as well as to help with vocations to the consecrated life as a nun or monk. Visit Vocations in Brooklyn for more information.
